Charlotte Saylor

Charlotte Saylor’s work begins with attentive movement through the world — walking, noticing, and gathering overlooked objects and everyday materials. These encounters later shape what happens in the studio, where she brings a painterly sensibility to the materials she collects. Through shifts in surface, color, and mark, Saylor builds layered compositions that often carry quiet traces of personal history, memory, and daily life.

Saylor grew up in Montclair, New Jersey. She received her BA in Art Studio from the University of California, Davis in 2019, and earned her MFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2025.
